Vapiano is an informal Italian restaurant after a very successful German concept. In Germany, you find this restaurant chain in nearly every major city and this ‘virus’ is spreading rapidly across Europe, USA and even Middle-East. After Amsterdam and The Hague, next on the list is Rotterdam.
At Vapiano, which means ‘go slow’, there is a self service counter and every meal you order is made freshly in the open kitchen right in front of you. Upon entering Vapiano you receive a magnet card, on which your pizza, pasta or salad is credited by the cook or bar keeper. After dinner don’t forget the have adrink at coffee bar. At the end of the evening you can hand over the magnet card to the cashier and pay.

Vapiano is spacious and the restaurant is furnished with bar tables and stools so you can easily get to know other people. When you order a pizza, the cook will hand out a buzzer that will notice you when your dish ready. Italian food doesn’t come any fresher than this!

Vapiano has two restaurants in Rotterdam. The latest Vapiano is located at the Central Plaza shopping mall, just opposite to Rotterdam Central Station and Holland Casino. The first Vapiano is located at Binnenrotte, the market square and also has a sweet outdoor dining area. During the weekends, it can be really crowded at Vapiano Rotterdam, so be smart and visit this trendy restaurant either early or late or even better: on weekdays!
