To have a coffee to go with a muffin is a way of living that has come from big American cities, where the Starbucks chain is omnipresent. The coffee bar chain Coffee Company has given its own twist to this lifestyle and introduced a Dutch concept in Amsterdam. Meanwhile the Coffee Company has been taken over by the Douwe Egberts Café chain, with a coffe bar at Binnenrotte ( market square) in Rotterdam.
The Coffee Company is quite successful, as in Rotterdam they have openend two locations, one at Meent and the other one at Eendrachtsplein. Both coffee bars have a small outdoor terrace and are open from 7.30 in the morning on weekdays, ideal for a quick (or slow) breakfast. The coffee company Rotterdam is perfect for coffee to go, but for a bigger selection of breakfast and lunch, you’d better go to Vlaamsch Broodhuys next door.
